It keeps getting better

Friday, February 17

Today is moving day.  We've been in dry camp for 4 weeks.  We really like our site and had initialing asked that we be allowed to stay there until we leave for the Virgin Island.  But when we got the assignment, we jumped at the chance even though it is only 3 nights because it's on the waterfront.  Last year we spent a good part of the time we were here on the waterfront and really liked it.

So we pack up early and settle into full hookup on the waterfront.  And it's beautiful.

A new view

Clara and Linda have planned a dinner for a small group of friends this evening.  They had planned it yesterday, but the forecast was for cool (71 degrees) and windy, so they postponed it until today.  The weather was perfect and we had a great evening.  Earlier (4 PM) we participated in the first part of the Sigsbee Shuffle.  This is a regular event where 4 hosts provide snacks/drinks at 4 different sites and we rotate from one to the other every 30 minutes.

Saturday morning, Steve and I get to the marina early and rent the trimarine.  Two other couple, Bob and Lynn and Bob and Pat join us and we motor out to Snipe Point (we went there last week with Jeff).  A beautiful island and fair snorkeling.

Sunday morning we join a group kayaking at Geiger Key - and we start packing for the Virgin Islands.

There were 42 kayaks on today's adventure.  We got quite spread out as we weaved our ways through the mangroves
We've got to move the motor home to dry camp tomorrow. You can't leave a coach for 8 days in full hookup (makes sense, everyone wants to be in full hookup).

Monday, February 20 and we're ready for the Virgin Islands.  We had to move back to dry camping, but no big deal.  After the move, Steve and I decided we didn't have anything better to do, so we went sailing.  It was a perfect day with winds about 15 knots.  A great day.

Guess who??

This evening we went over to Steve and Linda's for a farewell dinner and tomorrow morning we're off to Miami for a 12:40 pm flight to St. Thomas.
