A red-headed woodpecker wants to make its home on my window.
This morning Clara heard what sounded like someone tapping on the window in the dining room.
She glanced toward the window and saw a woodpecker sitting on the frame where the windows meet - and he was just pecking away at the glass (The windows are vinyl clad, so there is no wood for him to peck on).
After dozens of times scaring him away, we decided that this particular woodpecker has some mental issues. He just would not stop coming back to the window.
Finally, I decided to put some blue paint tape on the window, but that accomplished nothing. He just came back and pecked on the tape until he tore it off.
Then I decided to tape some crunched up tinfoil to the area. That didn't work. He eventually tore the tinfoil off.
Then I put up a flat sheet of tinfoil to the area. And I think that's working. He hasn't been back for a few days.
