Anna and Taylor invade Beaufort - Day 2 and 3

Wed, Jun 12

Day 2

Continuing in the effort to make sure that no one gets any rest, today we went to Shackleford in the power boat.

As soon as we got away from the docks, the girls got in the tube, and they stayed there just about every time the boat moved.

The water was splashing in their eyes, so they put on goggles
And snorkeling looking for shells

And more tubing

Help!!!

Please Help!!!
And running

Taylor has really enjoyed our neighbors dogs

Day 3

This is what summer is all about!  Fun in the sun!

Another great day on the water - and - this time we add to the crew of females on the boat.  Friends of the Lantz's, the Parsley family, are staying in the Lantz's home for a few days, and today, they add 3 more ladies, Tressa (who just graduated from High School), Marin (same age as Anna and Taylor) and Mom, Kim, to the crew (while Bill had to go Raleigh to pick up their son from football camp).  So today I'm outnumbered 6 to 1.  I just do what they tell me to do!

We head out in the boat into some stiff breezes to Shackleford.  As soon as we get started, three of the girls get on a slightly deflated tube for a bouncy ride to the island.

Tresa, Taylor and Anna bounce across the sound

Marin and Taylor"goggled up" and riding the waves
After some time on the island, checking out a raging ocean and swimming in the sound, the now even further deflated tube is challenged with all four of the girls.

Going!

Gone! Taylor was a real troublemaker.... She kept on bow plowing the tube and even pushed Tressa off!
Entertaining downtown Beaufort!

Anna and Taylor invade Beaufort - Day 1

Day 1

Tues, Jun 11

Yesterday, we drove to Raleigh and spent the night with Slade and Evan.  This morning Anna's friend, Taylor Cloer met us and we started what will probably turn out to be quite a week.  Taylor , along with Anna, is going to spend the week with us in Beaufort.

Within an hour after getting on the road, Anna had gotten out and danced around the car while I was getting gas and we had stopped at a Goodwill store where Anna and Taylor got "decked out" with used clothing and paraphernalia.  Apparently they had everyone in the store helping them pick out the most outlandish clothing they could find - with none of it matching.

Modeling at the Goodwill Store

After a relatively calm rest of the drive to Beaufort, the girls quickly fell into the Belle Air Street mode of relaxing.

After a few minutes of settling in and making sure all the hanging chairs were properly functioning, all the ladies wanted to go kayaking across Taylors Creek to see the horses.

Taylor sneaks up on the horses

Taylor and Anna paddle Taylors Creek
After the excursion to Carrot Island, our little neighbor Madelyn, who has been looking forward to Anna's visit for a long time, got home from camp and now I'm outnumbered 4 to 1 (that's four females to one male).

The girls work up an appetite for dinner with a little dancing
After dinner, the girls get dressed up in their new purchases from the Goodwill Store and we head downtown to introduce Beaufort to "them".
The girls (and Sir Issac Newton - the dog) are ready to go downtown

Dazzling the boardwalk

The girls waving trying to let everyone know who their grandparents are.  The grandparents are hiding!

And of course, the General Store for ice cream

A nice sunset for a first day.  What will the next few days bring?
