Wednesday February 23
Today is Butch Kurfees birthday. To celebrate, several friends joined and we booked the Appledore Star, a 72 foot wooden schooner for an evening sail. There are two Appledore sailing vessels in the Key West harbor and we smartly decided to book on the smaller of the two vessels.
It ended up that we had such a large group that we were about the only ones on the boat. That makes for a great party. We all enjoyed good food and drink, great sailing conditions and a perfect sunset.

A beautiful sunset |
Every evening, numerous boats leave the harbor taking hundreds of tourist out motoring or sailing. And hundreds more gather on Mallory Square.

After a fun sail, we enjoyed a great dinner |
