We've had to replace the topping lift for the boom on Eureka. Last time out, it got wrapped around the roller furling on the main and we had a difficult time getting the sail in (see earlier post).
While preparing to hoist Joe up to the top of the mast, we found that the spare halyard was badly frayed, and for some reason Joe didn't want to have his life depending on a frayed line (sure don't blame him for that).
So along with replacing the topping lift, we replaced the topping lift. Actually, most of the lines on the boat need replacing, but we'll wait until an emergency to do that.
